Asmin Bara Bronang Wins the Best Coal Mining Company Award in Southeast Asia

Bali, 25 August 2023 – PT Asmin Bara Bronang (ABB) won an award as the best coal mining company in the medium category in Southeast Asia at the 2023 ASEAN Coal Award which took place at the Nusa Dua Convention Centre, Bali on Friday, 25 August 2023. This award is a series of the 2023 ASEAN Energy Award which was held simultaneously with the ASEAN Energy Business Forum which took place on 23-26 August 2023 and was opened by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Mr. Arifin Tasrif representing President Joko Widodo..

This award is proof that the management of coal mining activities carried out by ABB along with the handling of impacts and supports has been recognized internationally. ABB's commitment to be consistent in implementing good mining practices, SDG’s, CSR, and innovations that are continuously rolled out in its business operations has had a significant impact on the community, country and the ASEAN region. Assessment was also given from ABB's contribution to provide energy in the Southeast Asia region.

This award was given directly by H.E. Victor Jona, Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Cambodia to Mr. Efredi Yudianto as President Director of ABB witnessed by the ministers of energy and mining in ASEAN countries.

Mr. Efredi Yudianto said that the ASEAN Coal Award was proof of ABB's commitment to implement responsible mining practices from the perspective of energy efficiency, environment, social, and good corporate governance. In ABB's culture, the implementation of these aspects is summarized in the A-Plus Company triangular strategy, which consists of A-Plus Product, A-Plus People, and A-Plus System. Implementing this strategy is part of ABB's contribution in supporting Indonesia's sustainable and resilient development.

ABB focuses its business in coal mining and sales in the Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan Province which produces thermal coal with CV 6400GAR specifications and low ash content below 9%. In its structure, ABB is under the Turangga Resources Group which is subsidiary of PT United Tractors, Tbk. and PT Pamapersada Nusantara that focuses its business in managing coal mine assets of the Astra Heavy Equipments, Mining, Construction and Energy.
