Asmin Green School 2.0 Brings Environmental Education and Waste Management Practices to Schools

Central Kapuas (21/09/2025) - PT Asmin Bara Bronang (ABB) through its Asmin Green School 2.0 program once again conducted environmental education activities at SMP Negeri 4 Central Kapuas on September 3, 2025. The activity was enthusiastically attended by students and teachers as a manifestation of concern for waste management that urgently needs to be addressed from an early age.

In this program, ABB provided environmental education aimed at cultivating students' awareness of the importance of preserving nature. Students gained understanding about the adverse impacts of plastic waste on ecosystems and were introduced to the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) that can be applied in daily life.

The activity utilized hands-on activity methods to enable students to directly practice effective waste management. Practices conducted included making ecobricks from used plastic bottles, handicrafts from plastic waste, composter bins to convert organic waste into natural fertilizer, and biopores as a means of water absorption and organic waste decomposition.

The Principal of SMP Negeri 4 Central Kapuas, Rabiyati, expressed appreciation for the implementation of this program. "We are very grateful to PT Asmin Bara Bronang for bringing this environmental education program to our school. Through this activity, students not only learn theory but also gain direct experience in processing waste. This certainly becomes important provision for them to implement an environmentally friendly lifestyle at school, home, and in the community," she stated.

The Asmin Green School program serves as an interactive learning platform outside the classroom that provides positive impact for students. Through a direct and participatory approach, PT Asmin Bara Bronang hopes this program can shape the character of the younger generation who are not only academically excellent but also have concern and responsibility for environmental preservation in their surroundings.
