Chili Farming Development Program in Buhut Jaya Village: Collaboration Between PT Telen Orbit Prima and the Community to Boost Local Economy

Central Kalimantan, February 2025 – PT Telen Orbit Prima (TOP), a subsidiary of Turangga Resources, has launched a Chili Farming Development Program in Buhut Jaya Village. The program is conducted on a 1-hectare plot and fully supported by TOP’s CSR initiative through financial and material aid, aiming to improve local economic welfare.

During an official visit to the chili farm, Ramadhan and Gema, representatives of TOP’s CSR team, expressed their confidence in the program's success. “We are optimistic that the development of this chili farm will become successful excample of agricultural development in this region. TOP not only provides funding but also supplies fertilizers and essential crop care products,” said Ramadhan.

All chili harvests will be absorbed by Koperasi Taraku Mandiri, which is a cooperative fostered by PT Asmin Bara Bronang, also part of  the Turangga Resources group for distribution to consumers. This system ensures market certainty for farmers and is part of a strategy to build a sustainable local economy.

In the future, this chili farming initiative is expected to inspire other community members to develop agricultural sectors that meet both corporate and regional needs. “We want Buhut Jaya Village to become a community-driven economic hub, and TOP is here as a catalyst for local economic growth,” added Gema.

With strong collaboration between  TOP, the community, and cooperatives, the program is expected to create a competitive agricultural ecosystem and improve the living standards of Buhut Jaya Village residents.
