Collaboration Between PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral and UPT KPHP Barito Tengah Boosts Economic Independence Through Root Wood Waste Craft Training

Pendreh Village, October 19, 2024 – PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral (SMM), in collaboration with UPT KPHP Barito Tengah, held a workshop aimed at boosting the economic independence of the communities in Pendreh and Lemo Villages by utilizing root wood waste. The event was designed to equip local residents with the skills and knowledge needed to process root wood waste into valuable craft products, such as tables, chairs, and home decorations.

The workshop was attended by local community members and led by experts from UPT KPHP Barito Tengah. The program also educated participants about the rules and regulations surrounding waste processing, as well as techniques for marketing their crafted products. This initiative is part of the company's ongoing commitment to community empowerment through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Development and Empowerment (PPM) programs.

Ating J, Head of Pendreh Village, expressed appreciation for the event, noting that it was highly beneficial for improving the local economy. "This workshop provides new opportunities for craftsmen to create valuable products and enhance their livelihoods," he said.

The event concluded with the signing of a commitment between SMM, UPT KPHP Barito Tengah, and the local government to support the sustainable development of root wood crafts.
