Consistently Creating Innovation, Turangga Resources Wins an Award at the 39th InnovAstra

Turangga Resources won another award at the 39th InnovAstra event which was held on 14 February 2023. InnovAstra is an innovation competition for all companies in the Astra Group, which carries the theme "Accelerating the Transition Through Innovation".

As stated by Mr. Djony Bunarto Tjondro, President Director of Astra International,“Innovations must be balanced with the ability to survive, adapt, and develop in parallel so that our steps are more swift, fast, precise, and rhythmic in a turbulent situation. It is essential for a corporation to continue to learn, be prepared, and be careful in making transitions filled with high levels of competition, changing landscapes, and challenges. By accelerating the Transition through Innovation, Astra's foothold is hoped to become stronger to achieve Astra's 2030 goal, namely "Pride of the Nation".

There are five categories that are contested in the InnovAstra event every year. The five categories are the Suggestion System (SS), Quality Control Circle (QCC), Quality Control Project (QCP), Business Performance Improvement (BPI), and Value Chain Innovation (VCI). This year, more than 1.4 million innovation projects have been collected from the Astra Group throughout Indonesia.

Turangga Resources was able to win 2 awards in the most prestigious categories, namely in the Business Performance Improvement (BPI) and Value Chain Innovation (VCI) categories. BPI is a comprehensinve improvement that has a major impact on enhancing the overall business performance. Meanwhile, VCI is an improvement implementedby inter-companies withinthe Astra Group which provides mutual benefits for each company.

In the BPI category, Turangga Resources won 1st place with their A-Plus Overdischarge team. This improvement was implemented at one of Turangga Resources' subsidiaries, PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral (SMM) by washing discarded coal to create new products and generate new revenue stream. Furthermore, this waste washing process has a positive impact on  the environmental.

In addition, Turangga Resources' collaboration with Pamapersada Nusantara and Energia Prima Nusantara (EPN) succeeded in winning the Design Thinking Champion in the Value Chain Innovation (VCI) category. The innovation of installing the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in the SMM washing plant was able to have a positive impact on reducing breakdown time at SMM.

The awards are proof of Turangga Resources' commitment to continue creating excellent innovations in order to achieve the company's business sustainability.
