Inauguration of SMK Maharati Multipurpose Building: Quality Education Access for Communities around Turangga Resources Mining Operations

On March 8, 2024, the inauguration of the SMK Maharati Multipurpose Building was held by Mr. Hendra Hutahean, the President Director of PT Tuah Turangga Agung and PT Pamapersada Nusantara. SMK Maharati stands as evidence of Corporate Social Responsibility’s (CSR) commitment in the education sector, a collaboration between Pamapersada Nusantara, Turangga Resources, and Kalimantan Prima Persada, under the auspices of the Bina Harati Pama Foundation.

SMK Maharati is located in Buhut Jaya Village, Central Kapuas Subdistrict, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan. Since its operation in 2021, SMK Maharati has brought quality education to the communities around Turangga Resources mining operations. By offering majors in Heavy Equipment Engineering and Visual Communication Design, this school prepares students to enter the the workforce and meet the current industry’s demands. Despite being located around the mining operational area, SMK Maharati is able to offer education with comprehensive and modern facilities, including computer laboratories, libraries, comfortable classrooms, and various other supporting facilities.

The presence of SMK Maharati is not just about education. It is about providing access to decent education for the local community. With this SMK, the surrounding residents no longer have to face distance or cost constraints to obtain quality education.
