Literacy Poster Competition: Fostering a Love of Reading in Paring Lahung Village

Paring Lahung (05/11/2025) – Turangga Resources through its CSR program organized a Student Literacy Poster Competition at Rumah Pintar "Pustaka Sari Ilmu" (Smart House "Library of Knowledge"), Paring Lahung Village, Montallat District. This activity is part of the Rumah Pintar Monthly Event Calendar aimed at cultivating reading interest among young people in the company's community development areas.

Twenty-five participants from junior and senior high schools in Paring Lahung Village took part, presenting literacy-themed posters rich with educational messages and creativity. Students enthusiastically drew, wrote, and presented their works before judges from the Turangga Resources CSR team and Rumah Pintar management.

Paring Lahung Village Head, Yudht Syahrial, welcomed this initiative. "We strongly support activities like this because they revive our children's enthusiasm for learning. Rumah Pintar has truly brought positive change to the Paring Lahung community," he said.

Teachers and school principals also expressed their appreciation. They noted that this activity not only hones artistic talents but also raises awareness of the importance of literacy among rural students. "Through this competition, children learn to express ideas, gain confidence to perform, and understand the meaning of reading as a window to the world," said one supervising teacher.

A Turangga Resources CSR representative explained that this activity is part of the company's commitment to supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and the Astra Sustainability Aspirations pillar of Inclusive People. "We want to ensure that children in remote areas like Paring Lahung have access to quality education," he said.

With support from the Village Government, schools, and student enthusiasm, Rumah Pintar "Pustaka Sari Ilmu" continues to serve as a center for learning and literacy development for the Central Kalimantan community.
