Pendreh Village Receives ProKlim Trophy Award from the Ministry of Environment

Barito Utara, Central Kalimantan (19/11/2025) – PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral's (SMM) Climate Village Program (ProKlim) in Pendreh Village has successfully received the ProKlim Trophy award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). Pendreh Village was selected as one of 50 villages to receive the Trophy and Main ProKlim Certificate from 361 participating villages across Indonesia.

This program is a collaboration between SMM as the main funder and the Barito Utara Environmental Agency (DLH), focusing on three crucial aspects: adaptation, mitigation, and institutional capacity in addressing climate change. Through structured programs, Pendreh Village's ProKlim score surged from 57.6 to 89.8—exceeding the initial target of 81.

Together with Barito Utara DLH and PT Pamapersada Nusantara (PAMA), SMM initiated "SMM-PAMA Climate Village Week" with four strategic programs:

  1. Pendreh Green Edu – A tree planting program involving all students to instill environmental awareness from an early age
  2. SIAGA (SMM-PAMA Action Synergy) – Environmental management and community cooperation initiatives to maintain cleanliness and environmental sustainability
  3. Jejak Sehat SMM-PAMA – An environmental health program promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles
  4. SMM-PAMA BERDIKARI Award – Recognition for residents who contribute most significantly to environmental action in the village

In July 2025, Pendreh Village was selected as one of 16 villages to receive direct field verification from 361 participants. The KLHK Directorate General of Climate Change Control team conducted validation on July 16-17, 2025, evaluating infrastructure, community participation, and program sustainability. On November 19, 2025, Pendreh Village was officially declared a recipient of the Main ProKlim Trophy.

KLHK's assessment system sets a score of >81 for ProKlim Certificate and >89 for Trophy. With a score of 89.8, Pendreh Village achieved the highest category.

"We hope this Climate Village Program can become a long-term program in our environmental pillar—not just stopping at this award, but we are committed to maintaining and developing ProKlim's sustainability through programs integrated with other community empowerment pillars," said Abdul Syukur, SMM representative.

This achievement demonstrates that collaboration between the private sector, local government, and communities can produce tangible impact in addressing climate change. SMM remains committed to supporting sustainable environmental initiatives, not only in Pendreh Village but also in other operational areas.
