SMM Holds Ramadan Shopping for 819 Orphans with Wisata Belanja Ramadhan

Barito Utara, Central Kalimantan (14/03/2026) – PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral (SMM) organized a Ramadan Shopping Tour program involving 819 orphans and underprivileged children from 11 villages and 7 orphanages in Barito Utara and Barito Selatan Regencies. The event, held at Shiratal Mustaqim Grand Mosque on Friday (14/3/2026), represents the company's tangible commitment to social welfare during the holy month of Ramadan.

The SMM-initiated program received full support from PAMA SMMS, PAMA BEKB, Yayasan Indonesia Menabung Pohon (YIMP), and PAMA SMMS and BEKB Workers' Union. The event was attended by Barito Utara Regent H. Shalahuddin, Vice Regent, TP-PKK Chairperson, and Forkopimda officials.

SMM CSR Manager, Abdul Syukur, stated this was the third year of the Shopping Tour with significant participant increase. "Alhamdulillah, participation increases every year. Previously only 300 children, this time involving 819 children," he said.

Each child received Rp500,000 in cash to shop for Eid al-Fitr necessities at Pasar Pendapa Muara Teweh. The children came from Lemo I, Lemo II, Pendreh, Bintang Ninggi I and II, Beringin Raya, Datai Nirui, Kemawen, Benangin I, II, and V villages, as well as from Khoirunnas, Al Hidayah, Bina Manggala, Nurul Musthofa orphanages, Al Askani Islamic Boarding School, Masjid Raya Islamic Boarding School, and Darussalam Jingah Islamic Boarding School.

Regent H. Shalahuddin stated that orphans are the nation's generation who have equal rights to experience happiness. "My dear children, you are part of Barito Utara Regency's future. Never feel alone, because there are still many good people who care for and love you," he said.

This program provides dual impact: orphans can celebrate Eid al-Fitr properly while boosting the local economy through increased purchasing power at Pasar Pendapa, benefiting traders and MSMEs in Muara Teweh.
