Turangga Resources Earns Recognitions in Community Development and Empowerment from ESDM

Jakarta, December 8, 2023 - Turangga Resources' commitment to implement community empowerment programs in the vicinity of its mining areas has been acknowledged by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Performance Award for Community Development and Empowerment (PPM)/Mining Enriching Communities (Tamasya) Award 2023, a first-time initiative by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, was conferred upon mining companies meeting the predefined criteria.

In the coal category, 43 eligible businesses participated in the Performance Award for Community Development and Empowerment (PPM)/Mining Enriching Communities (Tamasya) Award 2023, with a total of 19 finalists. Turangga Resources subsidiaries, PT Asmin Bara Bronang (ABB) and PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral (SMM), received the PPM award in the medium-scale coal company category. The award presentation took place at Hotel Bidakara on December 8th and was directly received by Mr. BJ Basuki, representing ABB, and Mr. Grindo Nugroho, representing SMM.

The evaluation process for the Tamasya Award 2023 involved several stages, such as administrative research, interviews, and on-site verification for business entities. The assessment criteria covered administrative aspects, feasibility studies, RIPPM, RKAB, regular reports submission, compliance with data and information disclosure, and implementation for the community around the mine.

The evaluation was conducted by expert assessment teams independent of various universities (Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta) and Politeknik Kesejahteraan Sosial Bandung, as well as industry practitioners.

This award serves as motivation for Turangga Resources to enhance future PPM performance and contribute positively to the community, especially in the areas surrounding the mining operations.
