Tumbang Nusa, July 17, 2024 – In an effort to support environmental preservation and provide education to the younger generation, Turangga Resources organized a study tour for children from supported orphanages in the vicinity of the company's operational area. This activity aims to introduce the importance of peatland ecosystems and foster a love for nature from an early age. The study tour was attended by 87 children from three orphanages in Palangkaraya. The event took place at the Peatland Information Center KHDTK Tumbang Nusa, established by Turangga Resources in collaboration with the Environmental and Forestry Standard Instrument Application Center (BPSI-LHK) Banjar Baru.
During the event, the orphanage children, along with the BPSI-LHK Banjar Baru team and the Turangga Resources CSR team, were taken on a tour of a building containing information about peatlands, including equipment and methods for extinguishing fires in peatland areas. Next, the children visited an aviary to learn about birds native to Central Kalimantan, and then proceeded to a nursery and forest in the area. The children showing high enthusiasm while listening to the team’s explanations and asking various questions.
After exploring the area, the children were directed to the Camppeat area for a communal meal and souvenir distribution. The management of all Turangga Resources entities, including PT Asmin Bara Bronang, PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral, and PT Telen Orbit Prima, were also present at the event.
The program received high praise from the foundation’s management and participants for its ability to provide valuable new knowledge and new insights to the orphanage children.
