Palangkaraya, July 5, 2024 – The 3rd Kalimantan Fire & Rescue Challenge (KFRC) 2024 was successfully held from June 27-30, 2024, in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The event was organized by the Kalimantan Mining Emergency Response Professional Association (PPTDPK) in collaboration with the East Kalimantan Mining Technical Forum (FKTT Kaltim), and supported by the Director of Mineral and Coal Technical and Environmental Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and the Indonesian Mining and Industrial Emergency Response Professional Association (PERTAPINDO). KFRC is a prestigious annual event that brings together mining and energy companies in Kalimantan to showcase their technical skills and readiness in handling emergency situations and ensuring workplace safety. The competition featured 19 teams, including 18 rescue teams from mining and energy companies across Kalimantan and 1 guest team from PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional Balongan, Indramayu, West Java.
The competition included six categories: Light Vehicle Firefighting, First Aid Rescue, Road Accident Rescue, Water Rescue, Firefighter Competency Test, and Firefighter Fitness Drill. Participants demonstrated their expertise and abilities in providing emergency assistance, rescuing accident victims, and extinguishing fires.
Turangga Resources won six awards through its subsidiaries, PT Asmin Bara Bronang (ABB) and PT Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral (SMM). ABB achieved 2nd place in the Light Vehicle Firefighting category, 3rd place in the Firefighter Competency Test, and 3rd place consolation winner in the Firefighter Fitness Drill. Meanwhile, SMM won The Best First Aider award, 1st place consolation winner in the Dump Truck Accident Rescue, and 3rd place consolation winner in the Firefighter Competency Test.
These awards reflect Turangga Resources' commitment and seriousness in enhancing the performance of its rescue teams. This achievement also demonstrates the company's dedication to prevention and rescue efforts within the company and in natural disaster scenarios across Indonesia, under the supervision of the Ministry of ESDM.
