Banjarbaru (24/7/25) - PT Kadya Caraka Mulia (KCM) together with the South Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service (Dishut) signed a cooperation agreement for forest area utilization for planting activities by non-forestry parties (forest reclamation and rehabilitation) on Thursday (24/7/25) at the courtyard of the South Kalimantan Forestry Service office. The event was directly attended by the Head of South Kalimantan Provincial Forestry Service, Fathimatuzzahra, S.Hut., M.P., Director of KCM, Nehemia HPP, along with echelon officials, Head of KPH Kayutangi, representatives from BPKH Region V Banjarbaru, and BPDAS Barito.
The signing of this cooperation agreement reflects KCM’’s dedication to supporting forest ecosystem restoration, particularly in areas affected by activities outside the forestry sector. The collaboration area is designated in the KPH Kayutangi region, specifically in Lok Tunggul Village, Pengaron District, Banjar Regency, covering 4.57 hectares. The scope of cooperation includes various activities ranging from technical planning preparation, land arrangement, revegetation, plant protection, supervision, as well as monitoring and evaluation of success rates.
Through this collaboration, KCM will implement a planting program as fulfillment of reclamation and rehabilitation obligations, with guidance from the Forestry Service and KPH Kayutangi. This program is expected to restore the ecological functions of forest areas and serve as an exemplary collaboration between the business sector and government in forest management.
In her speech, Head of Forestry Service Fathimatuzzahra expressed appreciation to all parties who have contributed to the process of signing this cooperation agreement. She also acknowledged KCM’’s commitment to planting using relatively large seedlings, measuring one meter and above. "I expect the quality of selected plants can accelerate forest cover recovery and produce more optimal outcomes and can serve as a good rehabilitation reference for other parties," she stated. The Head of Service also emphasized the urgency of joint commitment to maintain the sustainability of forest area functions in South Kalimantan.
